10 Years of Dragonfly: Meet Laura

ree

This year we are so honored to have SEVEN more women hit a huge milestone! They celebrate their 10 year anniversary at Dragonfly this year!

We'll be introducing them all to you and getting their perspective because we, of course, think they are amazing!

First up is Laura! Laura is fun to have in class and to share a laugh with! She's clearly dedicated, but is also easy to coach and knows her stuff. She's had to work around some injuries over the years, but she keeps on keepin' on and that is always so impressive!

Laura and her husband also own Lindenwood Park Place, a social club and community center with unique spaces to rent and fun events - and it's close to Dragonfly!

Here's more about Laura:

What originally brought you to Dragonfly ten years ago? Honestly, the Facebook ads were popping up in my feed, I was looking for a new gym and decided to give it a try.

What has kept you at DF for ten years? The coaches actually care about you. They check on any injury/pain you have and always have a recommendation for another movement. I also love the small classes and it being women only.

Is there anything that strength training has taught you or given you that you weren't expecting? I’ve learned that I’m stronger than I think—I can lift much heavier than I expect. The encouragement from the coaches and other members really helps me push past my limits.

What is your favorite part about being a member at Dragonfly? The other members! Everyone is so fun, supportive, and encouraging. I love seeing familiar faces each time I come in, and I also enjoy welcoming and cheering on new members.

What advice would you give to members who are just starting with us? Lean on your coaches—they’re here to help! Ask questions, speak up if something doesn’t feel right, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself with a heavier weight. You’ll be surprised at what you can do!
