December Member of the Month

ree

Congratulations to December Member of the Month, Erin!

Coach Missy says, "Erin is a rockstar! She is consistent and works hard. She's fun and funny, easy to coach, and is a total blast to have in class. She's stronger than she thinks and I can't wait to see how much MORE strength she's gonna gain in 2026! Thanks for being part of our community, Erin!"

What separates your experience at Dragonfly from other gyms/workouts/things you've tried in the past? There are quite a few things that set Dragonfly apart. For me, Dragonfly is a safe place where I can focus on my health and well being. I really appreciate the class sizes because they aren’t so big that you just blend in, but also aren’t so small that you stand out. I can do what I need to at my own pace. I also appreciate that the trainers pay attention without being overbearing. The variety of the classes and the 8 week sessions which enable me to see progress keep me coming back. Another big draw for me is that Dragonfly brings together a community of women who support each other. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a class full of women you don’t know, everyone shows up and to do their best and encourage each other to do their best!

What is something that used to be intimidating at the gym but now you love it and/or how might you encourage others that might be nervous? I feel like Dragonfly is a judgement free zone! I was nervous just to walk in the first time. But I quickly learned that everyone is there to focus on their own goals. Some days your goal might be just to show up and some days you are breaking a PR. Either way, Dragonfly, the trainers, and the members are there to support you and cheer you on!

We love when y'all celebrate & share your accomplishments - big & small, inside & outside the gym.  Share with us something that you are proud of from the past few weeks or months.  Don't be shy! The past year has been huge for my health journey and without Dragonfly, I don’t think I could have been as successful as I’ve been. In working through my own health challenges I’ve learned not to take my health for granted and if I want to enjoy my later years then I have to be working toward that now.

I’ve been super excited to push myself with the barbells and I even pushed a whole person on the prowler last week! I’m looking forward to 2026 and even got excited to pick out my new planner. I’ve learned that keeping track of what I do at the gym really helps me see my progress! And I’ve also learned that my ledger is only as good as the ledger-taker, so I have to keep good notes to truly see that progress!!!

Outside the gym, I’ve also really been noticing the hard work paying off lately. I recently went to Disney World and was able to walk about 10 miles per day and still felt like I wanted to do it again the next day! I’m surprising myself with the things I can do that didn’t seem possible in the past. That’s carried into a lot of parts of my life. There have been a lot of things that I didn’t want to try because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it or it would be too hard. And recently, I’m much more interested in trying because I feel like I can actually succeed!

Congrats Erin! We love seeing that confidence!!

Each month Dragonfly coaches nominate members who are standing out, overcoming obstacles, and giving it their all. It’s always a hard choice to decide upon one!
