Congratulations to February Member of the Month, Cheryl!
Coach Jenny says, "Cheryl’s consistency has truly paid off. She is a fantastic example of starting at the beginning and putting in the hard work to see real results. From hanging from the pull-up bar to being able to do a full Turkish get-up and perfecting her kettlebell swing, her progress is impressive. And, she always has a smile on her face. "
Way to go, Cheryl! Here's more about Cheryl's journey:
What motivates you to be consistent with your training? The biggest motivator for me is that I truly love Dragonfly. It is such a great place and all the people make it even better. I want to be here.
What has strength training taught you? Strength training does so much more than make you stronger. It has taught me that I can do hard things. With patience, you can reach your goals.Â
It is also a great stress reliever for me. Coming to class feels like therapy. We all have so much going on in our daily lives. I can walk into Dragonfly wound up and leave with a whole different mind set.Â
What was intimidating? I guess it would have to be the barbell! It requires a lot of strength! I am in awe of the women at Dragonfly and how strong they are. I am working to get to the point where I can do a bench press! It felt great to use the barbell for a deadlift and now I am finally able to do an overhead press. With each class, I am able to do a little more.Â
Progress is personal. Take it one class at a time. Stick with it and you will definitely see results!Â
