Congratulations to October Member of the Month, Barb!
Coach Denise says, "Barb is never in a bad mood. She takes her training seriously, but she doesn't take herself too seriously. She brings a smile and a laugh to each class she attends. Lately, she has been very consistent and has been upping her weights and intensity as a result. She tackled the Barbell, and KB swings with enthusiasm. She's a super team player and getting stronger every day!

What separates your experience at Dragonfly from other gyms/workouts you've tried in the past?  In one word, EVERYTHING! The Coaches are amazing and take the time with every member to make sure the movements are correct and you’re challenging  yourself. It’s special to be in a place filled with strong women who support each other and celebrate each accomplishment. There are no attitudes at DFT. Lastly,  because the classes are small it feels private and you don’t get lost in the crowd!
Is there anything that strength training has taught you or given you that you weren't expecting? Before DFT I focused on cardio. Now I’ve learned how important strength training is to women in general, but especially to women of a certain age. Personally my bone density and flexibility has improved. Plus I love saying I work out with weights because it’s cool! Â
Share with us something that you are proud of from the past few weeks or months. Don't be shy! I think strength training gives me more confidence and energy to put myself out there. It’s easy for me to stay in my comfort zone. Now I’m getting out more - meeting with friends and getting more involved with a number of animal rescue groups. Â
