2000 Swings or Snatches in 20 days

 

The details:


  • Do 2000 swings/snatches (any variations/weight) in 20 days

  • Alternate days of light, medium, heavy weights. This all depends on what else you are doing and how you are feeling.

  • Suggested weights for 2H swings: generally, 26 & 35# depending on your level. Single arm swing and single arm snatch will vary off of this of course.

  • You could do your swings in sets of 10 or 20 or 25. If you are doing sets of 10 then you might use a heavier bell, sets of 25 - lighter. Every minute on the minute is also a great way to get this done. For example, 20 every minute for 5 mins. Or do 10 swings 10x throughout the day or 20 swings 5-10x throughout the day.

  • Don't pick such a light weight that you are no longer moving properly. Don't pick such a heavy weight that you are sore and exhausted every day.

  • For this challenge variation is good! 2H swings, single arm swings, side step swings, SA kickstand swing, single arm snatch, kickstand snatch...etc. Alternate heavier days with lighter days. Snatches with swings. Here are more than 20 variations we've done at DF.

  • Some of you may decide to do 100 swings/snatches per day for 20 days. Others may decide to do 140 swings 5x a week. Do what works best for you but I do recommend having a plan and being consistent with this. Don't get behind - that defeats the purpose of the challenge.

  • You can count in class swings/snatches (we're doing them just about everyday).

  • If you don't have a bell at home - swing by the studio during a class time, grab a bell, pick a spot out of the way and do your swings!

  • If you are still learning how to swing then this may not be a good challenge for you.
